I am so sorry for your loss. Wally was a wonderful friend to me and my family over the years. I will certainly miss him, As I said under his memorial, I am sure he has already started helping others...with or without his uniform. My best to you and may my friend rest in peace

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Wally.  He helped me and my husband in so many ways.

My husband was injured during the Viet Nam era and spent over 20 years trying to get his well earned disability from the US Army.  Speaking to Wally, during a social event, Wally advised him to contact our Congressman (Dick Army..the most veteran friendly Congressman in Wisconsin).  Thanks to Wally's strong advise, this is what John did.  After 20 years of trying, John began recediving his disability checks within 3 weeks.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.  Putting it out on Facebook, I received so many wonderful cards of courage from my classmates. Why do I mention this?  Wally was the ONLY male classmate from whom I received a wonderful card and note.  I reminded him of this at every function we both attended, for years.

My love and best wishes to Joan and her entire family,  Wally was a fighter, but he was battling an enemy which was far too complex and strong to overcome, but he gave it his very best try, for years.

I will never forget his many pieces of good advice, help and genuine friendship he gave to myself and my family. Rest in peace, my friend! I will certainly miss you.  I am sure you are preparing to help others...with or without the uniform!

April, Allison and myself were in many classes together.  All three of us were in "homeroom" together for several years. I am sorry  to hear of April's passing and my love and prayers to Allison and her family. What a wonderful picture of April at her wedding.
